Orbis Nail Color Series #8751 Passion Berry review/ swatch

I was giving my nails a bit of a rest with polishes, but here I go again. Today I'm wearing the Orbis nail color series in shade #8751, English color name is 'Passion Berry', which is described as a red berry with gold pearls.

Everytime I try one of my Orbis nail colors (still have many untried ones), I always get a pleasant surprise with the quality- they are on par with OPI polishes, smooth, longwearing, solid colors, no streaks and good wear. I find the brush heads to be easy to handle for precision application as well (i.e. I can watch TV while applying this rather quickly).

In the bottle it looks like a pinked-red berry with subtle gold pearls. I call them pearls as they are really fine and can't really be called shimmers. Yet the gold pearling is there, so there's a gold base rather than just an iridescence.

Here it is below, with two coats, I didn't really purposely apply a thinner or thicker coat, just two standard coats. Base coat is Paul & Joe and top coat is Coffret D'or topcoat (which isn't as fast drying as seche vite, but has a nice gloss , easy spreadbility and is still rather dry in 20 minutes).

I think this pic below is a bit too much flash so paler than in real life

When the shade is indoors under white light it's a bit more red than pink, like the picture below. I would call it more like a creme-pink-berry rose with gold pearls. The color is full, and bright without being too bold, it's such a pretty shade for spring and summer. The gold pearling does wonders- it's similar finish to OPI Love Me Tender polish (in terms of the gold pearl), the base color is definitely differently though 

Overall rating 4/5, it applies so nicely, only mark deducted is really for my own color preference, I prefer the look in my first few photos (more a softer pink rose), than in real life where the base color can look a bit more like a bolder pink-rose.

Orbis Nail Color Series #8756 (Peach Orange) polish swatch / review

Orbis has introduced new nail colors for 2012 summer.

The following are the main colors, first 4 digits are color codes, followed by Chinese name and English name and the finishes.

8750 香甜黑醋栗 Cassis Fizz（大粒珠光）[large pearl finish]

I'm swatching #8756 "peach orange" first, which seems to be the only shade in the series with no finish indicator- because it's basically a creme finish. There's no pearling or glitters or shimmers or iridescence.

Orbis polishes (and most products) come in a plastic package with a single sheet of paper with descriptions etc. It's because Orbis is a bit like Fancl- a mail order originated brand in Japan so the packaging's a bit minimalistic.

It gives lovely opacity with two coats. I'm not wearing any base coat or top coat here as I was in a hurry last night. My pinky finger is 1 thicker coat, you can see how the color's sheerer than other fingers.

#8756 is exactly as described, a peach orange, under some lights it gives more a salmon pink look, but reminds me a bit of Essie Cantaloupe. There's a certain brightness to it even though it's a pastel creme color. Maybe not as bright as Essie cantaloupe and less orange.

Ingredients etc

It's still gentle enough to be an office friendly color.

Indoor lights it looks more pastel corally pink peach. Under flash light it looks a tad paler. 

Below is as pale as it looks in certain lights.

Under fluorescent lights it can look a lot more creamiscle orange color and brighter and not as soft, I can't quite capture any photo with that so please keep in mind it can look brighter and more corally than my picture appears in certain lighting..

Overall 4/5, I quite like this pastel look and it applied smoothly without base coat. Two coats gives even coverage. Without top coat it still has a reasonable gloss and shine to it, and dried to touch in about 10 minutes realistically (and fully dried through in about 30 minutes).

Orbis polishes do have a standard nail polish smell. They retail for 79HKD in Hong Kong for 7ml.

Orbis Hand Treatment

Orbis is a bit like Fancl, one of the large Japanese skincare/ (with some cosmetics) company that started with mail order. They are relatively cheap, probably what you would call drug store prices. Most items are likely to be below 30USD, majority around 10-25USD.

The Hand Treatment was released in 2011 along with the new nail collection.

I work in an air conditioned office so it can get quite drying, especially when I handle a lot of paper files during some days. So having a hand cream by my side is quite helpful, especially something that's non sticky or staining or greasy.

Orbis hand treatment is one of those! It's a lot less greasy than L'Occitane and Jurlique (both of which are like luscious creams, but also leaves the cream residue sort of feel on hands). Orbis is a light cream, which absorbs very quickly.

It's in a 70g sized pink tube, very minimalistic. It's that small so probably best left in the office rather than handbags.

Ingredients (mostly in Japanese I cant read )

Product code is 9482 (most Orbis products have an unique product code printed on the bottom left hand corner), for ease of order.

Squeeze tube:

Consistency- you can see it's a fairly lightweight cream.

Spreaded out on the skin- it dries velvet finish very quickly- so it doesn't leave that oily shine a lot of handcreams tend to do.

Overall I think this is a 4 out of 5. Suitable for those who like a non-greasy handcream that dries very quickly. Again this will not be enough for those with chornic dry hands or cuticles. It's minimally scented.

Orbis is available in Japan, HK and Taiwan (and probably some other Asian countries). You can probably find this in online stores or ebay.

Orbis Moist Lip Essence Review/ swatch

Orbis is very similar to Fancl, both are mail order brands in Japan.

Moist Lip Essence (product code 9476) is probably < 10USD RRP I think, and contains 8ml in a pink squeeze tube.

Applicator looks like this: it's not the most convenient thing because while it's round and smooth, applying on lips still feel a bit awkhard since the nozzle is very small.

Constistency is a liquid gel, pretty transparent once on lips though.

Overall 2/5. While it feels nice on the lips, I honestly didn't feel any moisturising properties. Most of my other lipbalms are probably more moisturising than this. That being said I do have really dry lips and they are always chapped. The dry climate in Australia is not helping a bit!.
