Kiehl's Creme de Corp Soy Milk & Honey Body Polish with luffa fruit and jojoba butter review

What a long name, basically this is a body scrub from Kiehl's creme de corp line (which was my favorite body moisturiser for a while- it is probably the most nourishing and non-irritating body moisturiser for me for the last 8 years).

The soy & milk honey body polish contains luffa fruit and jojoba butter, which is actually rather evident from the product itself. It's in a plastic squeeze tube, 200ml size and retails for 30USD.

active ingredient:

Comes in a flip open cap- which is ok, but sometimes water do get trapped in the cap opening since I leave it in the shower.

It's a lightly creamy yellow product- not as buttery yellow as the creme de corp body moisturiser itself.

Spreaded- as you can see a little goes a long way. In fact 2 pea size is probably enough for my whole arm (provided a tad of water is added while I massage it in).

It doesn't foam, but it does maintain a nice consistency that is non scratchy as you massage it in with a few more drops of water. You can see there are smaller 'bead' looking granules and some longer looking strands (which is the luffa fruit fibre). The granule reminds me a lot of other hydrogenated jojoba bead type of scrubs (e.g. Peter thomas roth botanical scrubbing beads or the Ren face scrub). However this one has a bit more ommph for added exfoliation properties (never feels scratchy or jagged on the skin though).

Adding even more water- you can see it almost emulsify a little:

Rinsed off- left with supple , well exfoliated yet moisturised skin.

Of course you should always still moisturise after using a body scrub - however with this one I love it for summer- sometimes I find I can go with 2 days without moisturising the body and still have smooth skin, as it does seem to leave skin rather healthy and not overly exfoliated.

Thumbs up for this product- I secretly hoped it smells like milk and honey, but it smells really like just maybe soy or oats with a tad of sweetness sort of comforting scent. Not complaining though because I'd rather a lightly scented product than something that smells really artificial.

I only need to use this about once a week and I'm good for rest of the week. A little goes a long way too so there's really nothing to complain about when it comes to the $30USD pricetag (because I know if I use a cheaper $10 scrub I might go through 2 or 3 bottles a year, but this tube alone probably last me 6 months minimum). It's not a miracle worker (like the initial sensation you might get from those microdermabrasion crystal type of scrubs), but it is a nice , solid staple item.

I have moderately dry and sensitive skin with a few localised patches of my skin such as behind the knee is prone to eczema (but have controlled it well and haven't really had major flare ups in a few years already).

rating 5/5.

Kiehl's Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner review

Kiehl's Amino Acid shampoo and conditioner features protein, amino acid, coconut and jojoba oil as the key nourishing ingredients.  They are fairly light shampoos and conditioners, basically what I would call as 'daily' shampoos/conditioners for regular use.

The shampoo is a light liquid consistency that is semi-clear, the conditioner is a soft creme consistency without being thick nor runny.

They both feature a light coconut scent that I love, feels very tropical and summery, without being cloyingly sickening.

I've been using both shampoo and conditioner for a month or two and adore both of these. They would easily become my preferred daily shampoo / conditioner (while alternating with occasional moisturising shampoo or hair masques from Kerastase or other brands).

Overall they leave my hair feeling very refreshed, soft yet with the right volume and not look frizzy. They won't give me super smooth glossy hair like after a Kerastase hair masque, but it just feels so clean as a daily shampoo/conditioner and leaves my hair feeling lightweight and soft (and with a faint trace of that yummy coconut scent).

The shampoo is particularly mild and light, it foams well if your hair is not too greasy, but when you get extra oily hair on certain days, this could become a little bit more difficult to foam up.

Overall 5/5. It's probably suitable for those with normal hair without much damages, or for those with slightly greasy hair who needs a daily shampoo that doesn't strip away all the moisture. I dye my hair regularly and do not find these to be color stripping. It's just very mild.

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado review

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with avocado (often also just called the Avocado Eye cream) is probably one of the cult Kiehl's products out there. People either love it, or hate it.

I belong to the love it category, this is my second pot and you can see I'm 80% through it already. Each pot lasts for a good 6 months plus. (I also use other eye creams here and there so it stretches out how long most skincare lasts me for).

It's in a sturdy plastic white jar, 15ml content.

Ingredients are printed on the cap:

Comes with a plastic separator- I recommend keeping this because it seals the product off from air contact quite well. (However it's really fiddly every time I use the pot).

Here's the avocado eyecream- it really does look like smooshy avocado, it has a light yellow/green tinge but applies clear on the skin.

It has a thickish cream consistency.

However, the really interesting thing about this eye cream, is that it almost 'emulsifies' a little bit and just melts slightly on the skin, without being fully absorbed in. This is where I see majority of the negative reviews.

Once you pat into the under eye area it sort of looks like below, there is still clearly a layer left on top of the skin. This is what I love about this eye cream though, it provides a very good canvas and stops my concealer and undereye makeup from looking dry.

My concealer simply glides on top of this, no matter what consistency it is- from stick to liquid concealer to just powder foundation. It totally stops and undereye lines or creases you didn't think you have from appearing underneath your foundation or concealer.

Overall 5/5. In terms of effectiveness as an eyecream, it is pretty no frills- does what it claims to do. It light moisturises but I would think of this more as a 'barrier' type of eye cream (i.e. it seals whatever's underneath in and provides a protective canvas). So you can try to layer this on top of other eye serum.

It will not diminish your undereye circles or reduce puffyness (hence I avoid using it on top of my eye which tends to get puffy). However when I use this it just seems to 'plump' up my undereye skin area which makes it quite good for concealers.

No complaint about this at all given it's retails for like < 30 USD and 15ml eye cream really lasts a good 6 months.  If I could change anything about it, I suppose would be the packaging- I just hate any skincare in an open tub.
